life makes the best story
Just love me on tuesday is what she would say,
with a smile and a tilt in her own special way;
Quite puzzled at first and on such a quest,
until she decided to fill me in on the rest;
As you grow older and life becomes, Oh so busy,
you might miss my birthday or come late in a tizzy;
Don’t worry about me, I know, she would say,
just love me on tuesday and all is ok.
It started so simple then one day it made sense,
how could I have been so dense;
It was me who’d love her, is what I had thought,
that wasn’t it at all, it was her love for others I caught;
Our world is so vast and there is so much to handle,
the people who live, expectations, who holds a candle;
But to love and forgive and accept, that takes grace,
and that’s what she gave me so I could win the race.
So ease up on yourself and give others a break,
allow them to breath and take a breath for your sake;
Our life passes by in the blink of an eye,
and how do you want to be remembered when you die;
Put yourself in the shoes of another,
the shoes I wear are those of my mother.
When someone hurts you or misses your mark in some way,
creating a situation that ruins your day,
don’t give in to the world’s temptation,
make a decision instead and change your expectation;
Pass on this phrase, that has changed me in such a way,
just love me on tuesday and all is ok.©

Love is not just a term of endearment; it is a virtue to embrace. Sincere unconditional love, is understood even when unspoken. So first let me do my part in sharing my genuine love for you and who knows if enough people join me, in this endeavor, we could create a powerful force of change.
I want to share with you a family philosophy that has carried down now for three generations. I raised my son, Rob and daughter, Shannon with the philosophy of Unconditional Love . . and made up the phrase love me on tuesday, to make my point, early on as a Mother. I knew as a Mom I would make many mistakes along the way, but always wanted my children to feel secure in the fact that no matter what mistakes were made, the most important part of our relationship would always be our love for one another. This philosophy spawn an unbreakable family bond and Rob and Shannon now proudly use the phrase in raising their children.

this is part of mine . . .
It was unclear to Shannon as a young child just what the phrase really meant, but as she grew older she began to understand its true meaning by the way I used it in our lives. As Shannon conceptualized the depth in its message the phrase became a family treasure and one day she turned it into melodic poetry so that others might be inspired to practice its philosophy as well. God has given us the virtues of Faith, Hope and Love with the most important being Love!
This beautiful poem embodies the philosophy of Unconditional Love. There is so much stress on all of us each and every day, that it is important to make a conscious effort to love, accept and forgive each other, instead of rushing to judge so quickly. We hope our poem awakens the love within every person who reads it and that you pass it on to help someone else. It has already made such a difference in many lives; we hope it will inspire you in some positive way.
